September 20 is when you are able to begin to join season 11 of Dancing With the Stars on TV with the already announced cast list. A week ago the media leaked who would be dancing this year. It involves Bristol Palin, “The Situation,” David Hasselhoff, Aurina Patridge and Brandy. NJ.com got the scoop and explained who else was invited to the show. There is Margaret Cho who’s a standup comedienne, Florence Henderson from the “Brady Bunch” show, Rick Fox who’s married to Vanessa Williams, Michael Bolton who is on and off with Nocollette Sheridan and Jennifer Grey who’s “Baby” on the movie “Dirty Dancing”. DWTS will probably be seeing lots of good dancing from Jennifer Grey. DWTS might be the reason her life was saved.
An auto accident nearly put Jennifer Grey in a corner
Jennifer Grey knows how to dance, but after an automobile incident several years ago, it seemed as though she might never dance again. Grey most recently told Zap2It that she consulted a neurological spine surgeon after experiencing intense neck pain last year. She had wanted to be on DWTS for years and had heard the surgeon had worked on dancer Karina Smirnoff, so Grey scheduled an appointment.
The incident had torn the ligaments in Grey’s neck, and she’d never received correct treatment. Grey was told by the surgeon that her spinal cord was compressed because of the degenerated condition. Any blow that caused even a minor shift would cause permanent paralysis. So Grey had her neck fused. In the process of that procedure, the doctor confident her to have a benign nodule removed.

Now she is ready to take the floor for “Dancing With the Stars.” Considering the program inspired her to take action and receive treatment for her ailments, Jennifer Grey may really well have saved her life through the magic of the dance.
“I was so frightened of the surgery, I didn’t want to even consider that it would be successful. And it was so successful, I proceeded to do everything else on my ‘to-do’ list that I was afraid of, including doing this show,” Grey told Zap2It. “I figure that if I don’t do it now, I’ll be too old for it. My body is clearly giving out.”
